National Stadium: concerts and matches 1.5 km away

Costa Rica's National Stadium, opened in 2011 inside La Sabana Metropolitan Park, is the country's main venue for sports and music: 35,000 seats across four levels, VIP boxes, and a calendar that mixes national-team matches with the biggest international tours that reach Central America.

Known as the Jewel of La Sabana, it opened with a sold-out Shakira concert, and legends like Paul McCartney, Elton John and Guns N' Roses have played here since. If there's a big show in Costa Rica, this is where it happens.

The stadium sits in La Sabana, San José's green lung — and KC Hotel San José is only 1.5 km away, in the quiet Sabana Sur neighborhood. Walk there in about 20 minutes or take a 5-minute taxi, and skip the post-event traffic and parking: your bed is around the corner.
